Angela Scarpa

Professor Scarpa has several research interests, including:

(1) Development and prevention of antisocial behavior, childhood behavior problems, and psychopathology (in particular, anxiety disorders, depression, and personality disorders).

(2) Consequences of childhood abuse, violence victimization/exposure, other trauma, and emotion dysregulation.

(3) Biological and social contributions to the development of behavioral and emotional problems such as aggression, anxiety, and depression.

Currently, Professor Scarpa is studying psychophysiological profiles that may underlie different forms of aggression in children; psychological assessments of clients whose child is being or has been investigated for maltreatment; neuropsychological deficits associated with antisocial behavior; community violence exposure in middle school students; and the developmental progression of personality features from late adolescence to young adulthood.
